Our Story
Hawaii Monthly Rental is run by a small team based in Hawaiʻi. We started it because finding a furnished place for a few months here is harder than it should be. Vacation rental sites are built for nights and weekends. Long-term listings usually mean an unfurnished home and a 12-month lease. And the rules for anything in between change from island to island.
We wanted one place that covers that middle ground: furnished homes and condos for people who want to actually live here for a while, with honest, practical information to go with them.
What We Do
- Feature furnished homes and condos available for extended stays on Oʻahu, Maui County, the Big Island, and Kauaʻi
- Publish island and region guides covering climate, daily life, and getting around
- Explain minimum-stay rules in plain language, with links to the official county sources
- Connect renters directly with owners and property managers
What We Don’t Do
- We’re not a booking platform. We don’t take payments or hold deposits.
- Rental agreements are made directly between renters and owners.
- We don’t list nightly or weekly vacation rentals unless they’re permitted by the county.
- Our guides are general information, not legal or tax advice.
Our Standards
Accuracy first. We link to official county and state sources, date our resource lists, and update pages when rules change.
Respect for place. We use correct Hawaiian spelling, and we support rentals that follow county rules and are good neighbors to the communities around them.
Straight talk. If we ever feature sponsored listings or earn from affiliate links, we’ll label them clearly.
