South Maui Furnished Rentals
Kīhei, Wailea, and Mākena: the driest, sunniest beaches on Maui, with an easy, everyday rhythm.
South Maui is where long sunny days are the rule, not the exception. Kīhei has the relaxed feel of a beach town where people actually live, Wailea adds polished resorts and golf, and Mākena keeps things wild at the end of the road. It’s an easy place to settle in, swim most mornings, and watch whales from your lanai (porch) in winter.

Living in South Maui
Kīhei stretches for miles along the coast, with condos across the road from the beach, food trucks, grocery stores, and a casual, local feel. It’s home to many of Maui’s furnished condos and one of the easiest places on the island for a longer stay.
Wailea and Mākena are quieter and more upscale, with resort communities, golf, and some of the island’s best beaches. Afternoon winds pick up most days, and sunsets over Kahoʻolawe and Lānaʻi are a nightly event.
Neighborhoods
- North Kīhei: long, uncrowded beaches and more affordable condos.
- Central and South Kīhei: beach parks, restaurants, and the busiest stretch of condos.
- Maui Meadows: a hillside neighborhood of homes with ocean views above Wailea.
- Wailea and Mākena: resort communities, golf, and quieter, high-end rentals.
